Frequently Asked Questions
Are you open to the public?
Yes - we are open one weekend per month for our "open weekends" throughout the growing season (May-October). During these weekends, visitors can visit between 10 AM - 4 PM to tour the gardens, ask questions and purchase plants. The dates for our 2025 open weekends can be found on our calendar (under "visit ACG") or our social media pages.
How much do your plants cost?
We strive to offer affordable, seed-grown plants suitable for beginners. Our smaller plants begin as low as $10 and generally our prices for larger pitcher plants range between $25-$60.
What kind of carnivorous plants do you offer?
We specialize in native, temperate (cold-hardy) carnivorous plants from the Southeastern U.S. All of our sales plants are grown outdoors under the Georgia sunshine and are fully equipped to remain outdoors through our winters!
What are the care requirements for your plants?
We strive to keep the care for our plants as simple as possible. Our mission is to make carnivorous plants easy! The biggest requirement is ample direct sunlight for all of our plants. Beyond that, we recommend keeping your plants in a tray/saucer with 1-2" of water during the growing season to keep them consistently wet.
If you'd like to learn more - check out our learning tab to find some of our basic care guides and our YouTube channel, where we post videos on various topics. Following our social media is also a great place to engage! You can also feel free to contact us via email if you have any questions about growing.
About Atlanta Carnivorous Gardens
-
Meet Kirk
Kirk has been growing carnivorous plants for over 20 years with a passion for meeting other growers. In 2019, Kirk and his wife, Anna purchased their home in Snellville and made the decision to open their doors for other local growers.
Since then ACG has become a place for local growers and new growers alike to visit and see a large scale carnivorous plant collection up close.

The Plants
The bulk of our collection focuses on Sarracenia. We maintain a large personal collection of cultivars, breeder plants and selected seed-grown clones. Our goal is to showcase the diversity of Sarracenia with an emphasis on unique, seed grown plants. We also maintain a collection of Venus flytraps and temperate Sundews which grow in the same conditions as our Sarracenia.

Plant Sales
We offer a variety of plants locally at our open weekends for visitors to purchase. Our primary goal is to offer unique seed grown plants at affordable prices, but for the more experienced growers we also offer divisions of harder-to-find plants from our personal collection.
Our goal is to make carnivorous plans accessible to all, and to help get new growers started in their carnivorous journey!
